FAQ

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located in Northern Ontario, Canada right between Timmins and New Liskeard.

Q: Can you RGH my Xbox ?

A: No. Mikes360JTAGS was born with the idea in mind to only provide Xbox 360 consoles / services that are less common / Rare. Such as the old school JTAG hack and Zero Fuse CPUs. I believe the market is very saturated with RGH  , that is why I’m not offering it.

Q: Why are the prices higher than RGH consoles?

A: We charge higher prices due to the rarity of genuine JTAG and Zero Fuse consoles. And the quality of work being offered. A standard RGH install takes less than 2 hours to complete. Zero fuse installs require BGA rework using very expensive equipment and extensive experience. Each console takes approximately 8 hours of labor including stress testing.

Q: What is the difference between RGH and JTAG?

A:

An RGH/JTAG exploited console is, a system modified to enable the running of unsigned code. Both of these modification methods achieve the same thing, just in different ways, and they both have different requirements.

The JTAG modification is a software hack based upon an exploitable SMC which is why it can only be done to Kernels 7371 or lower and was patched in the 8498 kernel in August of 2009. So to get a JTAG exploitable console you must find one not updated since then!

The RGH modification is a time based attack on the CPU that glitches the chip, and allows a moment for the exploit to take place and unsigned code to be run.

Q: Aren’t JTAG consoles unreliable?

A: Well , typically JTAG consoles are older than 2008. Those systems have faulty GPUs that cause the RROD. Revised GPUs were manufactured in the early to mid part of 2008 made to retrofit these systems.  At Mikes360JTAGS we replace the defective style GPU with the revised chip even if it was currently working. These systems are now reliable .

Q: What is a Zero Fuse?

A: A Zero Fuse is simply a brand new CPU that was never installed. It does not have any eFuse burned , so the CPU has no security, letting you run unsigned code WITHOUT wiring, diodes, resistors and glitch chips, unlike RGH and JTAG

Q: What does “Fuse” mean?

A:

Electronic fuses, or eFuses, are tiny circuits embedded in the CPU. Like a fuse in a house circuit, an eFuse is a metallic bridge that, when exposed to too much power, physically burns out and is permanent. Every official dashboard update burns some eFuses, making a permanent record of what dashboard version you are currently on, and it will check this record to make sure that you aren’t installing a dashboard older than the one you’re currently on, making it impossible to downgrade.

Q: But what’s the benefit of Zero Fuse/JTAG, and not using the traditional RGH method?

A: Well, not every RGH install / installer are created equal. a lot of poor quality work is out there. This can negatively affect system performance including poor boot times and graphical glitches, or it may stop booting completely . Zero Fuse and JTAG will always 100% of the time instant boot and will never degrade.

Q: Why should I own a Zero Fuse console?

A: Aside from all the points mentioned above, running unsigned code without external mods to the motherboard, etc. it is just flat out cool! and is considered to be the holy grail of xbox 360 hardware, which will increase in value over time due to its rarity!

Q: Do you offer a guarantee?

A: Yes! every console I sell , or any service performed is backed by a 12 month warranty relating to the work performed. Should It fail just send it back and I will take care of you.
